The year 2014 has started in Spain with a good macroeconomic outlook, as indicated by several reports. Thus, although slowly, improvement is forecast in the Spanish economy, according to data published by institutions such as the IMF, Banco de España or Ceprede, among others. For the first time since the crisis began, IT budgets of Spanish companies could increase above 1%, as shows the latest report published by Pentheus-ESADE. The report indicates that the priorities of the Spanish ICT investment company are mobility, analytics and cloud.
All of these elements which, in one way or another, have a positive impact on the data center sector. While in 2013 the market came to a standstill, throughout the year the directors had time to establish its technological priorities. Now, is not the moment to look for innovation, but for operational excellence. Energy efficiency and availability remain central to a sector that needs saving in consumption without affecting operations.
DCD Converged Madrid 2014 will provide another year an accurate radiography market, responding to major market needs. In addition to the aforementioned issues, there will be addressed aspects such as DCIM, key precisely both savings and availability, security, both physical and logical, or outsourcing services with a cloud model or through colocation facilities.
Going a little further, we will address future-oriented issues. How to capitalize the national experience in building data centers to the outside? Will it affect the Big Data in the daily operation of data centers? Can we extrapolate the concept of software defined networks throughout the entire data center?
In the 7th edition of DCD Converged Madrid we will have the opportunity to exchange views with other companies, share experiences and meet the challenges of the new models of data centers.
