Google to own nearly 6% of Lenovo once Motorola deal completes

Search giant will reportedly hold 750m stake once hand set division is sold

Google will own a stake in Lenovo worth $750m once the Chinese technology manufacturer completes a $2.9bn takeover of the Google owned Motorola hand set company.

A filing on the Hong Kong Stock exchange is said to include details of the investment.

Separately IBM is rumoured to be considering selling off its chip division. Reports say it has retained Goldman Sachs to explore a sell off.
