Private financial cloud provider Options has expanded its presence in the global capital markets by putting its hosting platform into the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange), Arca, Arca Options and Amex Options exchange colocation facility in Mahwah, New Jersey.

The new placement means Options clients can use exchange colocation services through a single provider for every equity and options market in the United States.

The Mahwah expansion means Options’ data center footprint spans the US, Europe and Asia. Currently, it has automated application and infrastructure hosting in the entire New Jersey colocation corridor (with sites such as its NY4, NJ2 and Carteret facilities) and Chicago.

In Britain it claims to cover the entire geography of the London colocation map, with sites in Slough, Basildon, Earl Street, Brick Lane (Interxion), Docklands (Telehouse) and north west London (Park Royal). It also has sites in Frankfurt, Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

Each site is to be linked by the Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) provider, which will also offer Velocity, a connectivity system which the service provider said could cut port-to-port latencies to under 400 nanoseconds.

Options said it will achieve this reactivity through unified access, security, flash storage and monitoring with global support.

The aim is to provide a proven alternative to electronic trading firms that need a high performance infrastructure. Options CEO Nigel Kneafsey said: “The demand we’re seeing for the Options platform is certainly indicative of success in this regard.”
